True color imagery, abbreviated RGB for red-green-blue, is made from combining the measurements from the red, green, and blue spectral bands of a satellite instrument. True color imagery looks like a picture or photograph. Clouds are bright white, oceans and lakes are blue, forests and farmland are green, and deserts and mountains are brown.
